Retrieving email from exchange server re

My question is if it is possible to retrieve email from exchange 5.5 from a remote location that is using outlook express. My network has one server that acts as an Exchange server and Domain Controller. It is used as the incoming and outgoing server. I wanted to set up a laptop with Outlook Express that connects to the internet via dial up. I guess I am asking if I can set it up as Pop server. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks
