This Server is running Exchange Service Pack 4 and is not hosting it’s E-Mail (Earthlink does that). All of their mail is popped from Earthlink via Outlook except for one account that is using the POP3 Connector on the Exchange Server. The mail is downloaded to a mailbox that is added to all the Exchange users except one. The one user who does not have this mailbox is getting the mail via the alternate recipient. The alternate recipient is an Earthlink account that aliases to the Company’s domain name.
Mail is making it to the shared mailbox but there are errors regarding the POP3 in the Application log (12050 and 12052). The real problem is a bounce back message that says the alternate recipient did not receive the message due to a communications failure.
I deleted the POP3 Connector and recreated it, which seemed to solve the problem but it is back. I also tried deleting the IMC and it did not help. I am not sure what the next step should be, and would appreciate any advice.Thanks.
