Sending Email Attachments

I have an outlook 2000 user trying to send a word document as an attachment to a outlook express 6 user. It does not matter how the 2000 user tries to send the email message (Rich Text, Plain, HTML) the oe6 user either does not get the attachment or gets the attachemnt embedded in the email message with all of the graphics striped out. I have tried to run a dectect and repair on the 2000 but with no luck. Any Suggestions?
