Shared fax cancels call after connect

Our Windows 2000 server (SBS) has shared fax service installed and running. We can receive faxes OK. Outbound faxes, from server or clients are cancelled as soon as receiving fax modem answers. Client sends faxes using fax wizard after installing asshared network printer. More info if needed upon request. Any takers?
