Shutdown Outlook

Hi all,

System is Windows 2000 running Office 2000

We have a situation where we do a data backup overnight using task scheduler to run a batch file to create *.rar files which are then copied to another machine. CDs are burnt from these copies on a weekly basis.

We have a user who continually forgets to shut down Outlook on their machine, and whereas RAR does have the ability to enforce archiving of open files, this doesn’t work with outlook.pst, so we get in to work and the backup ofthis user’s email has failed.

Is there any way that I can get Outlook shut down from within task scheduler or from within a batch file, so I can shut it down before the backup is run?

I must confess I am not all that hopeful, but I will be grateful of any information.
