SIGNATURE FORMAT

I am running R6 client. I opened a word doc and wrote my name and my telephone number in the second line. The gap between these two have just on eline only. I saved this doc as an html. I automatically clicked the option to add the signature file to my new memo. What is noe happening is that whenever I open a new memo the gap between the name and the telephone number is showing always as two spaces. How do I rectify this?
