Speed of Outlook on Exchange

Stand alone version of Outlook on WXP.
Under the “Activities” tab of a contact in MS Outlook, a search can be performed to return various items that can be specified – and it is a very slow search.

Is anyone familiar with the speed of this particular function with Outlook running in a MS Exchange Server environment?
Does it return results any faster?

Server Spec’s – 750 Mhz PII, 1.5 GB RAM, SCSI HDD’s running W2K SP4
Client Spec’s – 2.6 GHz P4, 248 MB RAM, IDE HDD running WXP
Switched LAN running @ 100 Mbps
