Task Manager wont view properly

While closing multiple pop-up ads from the internet with task manager, the viewing appearance of my task manager was changed. It no longer displays all of the tabs, and the control buttons on the bottom have vanished. It is similar in appearance to the stripped version of an explorer window without task, menu and status bars. How do I restore task manager to the default view? I have not been able to find the proper place to change the setting.
