Tasks display in outlook today

It must be possible to get the tasks list in Outlook 2000 to display in a sensible fashion, but so far this has eluded me. I simply want to show the tasks sorted by importance and then due date, but with tasks with a due date displayed before those without.

This sounds simple, and is the format that the Palm OS follows, but I have been unable to replicate this in outlook as it insists on putting tasks with no due date before those with, making for an unreadable mess.

Any ideas out there?
