telnet smtp Server

Good PM
I would like when I telnet my smtp server from the cmd prompt to print to console my instructions.
By default windows does not show verbose output.Athhough I could write batch or vbscript to send messages,for test purpose from cmd prompt.
Any thoughts is welcome
