Third Parties Roles in Project Scoping

It may be easy to get a client/sponsor to sit in sessions to define projects. The main issue is what to do when the project’s vision involves 3rd parties like Banks, Telcos, etc. as part of the ultimate implementation/solution. Do you bring them in at these sessions? What about confidentiality and the risk of having your client’s vision stolen before implementation?
