To move to xp or not?

I support a large and small University environment. I have been forced by upper management to move to Windows XP in the smaller environment. I would prefer our techs to only have to support one OS. XP appears to be a good deal, but I’ve been happy with the stability of Windows 2000. Licensing and hardware is not an issue, so I could move up to XP at any time.

Any suggestions, opinions, warning?
