Unable to delete inbox messages

Dear Sir or Madam,

My operating system is Win2K/SP3 with Office XP Pro with no service pack. I’m using Outlook 2002 to recieve Internet mail through POP3. When I try to delete multiple indox messages I get the an error message which says; “The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists restart Outlook”. I’ve restarted Outlook and my P.C., then I go back to Outlook to delete. Sometimes, I’m able to delete one inbox message However,when try more than one I get error message stated above.
