Unmountable Boot Volume

I recently install windows XP home with SP1A and I get a unmountable boot volume error when windowsx is about to load. Here’s what I’ve tried: Changing the ide cables, tried a different good harddrive, tested my harddrive,x swapped my memory, used the recovery console and used chkdsk /p and fixboot and chkdsk /r this worked until I power down then the error came back as well as just about everything else you could think of I’m out of ideas short of replacing my motherboard (GA-7ZM bios FFc). Bios and windows are both fully updated as well. If anyone has some new ideas I could try to fix tis problem it would be greatly appreciated.
