I am having a problem with USB support on an older Gateway desktop machine. It is running win 98SE on an intel 82430TX chipset mobo. There are 2 on board usb ports and I have installed a PCI card also with 2 USB ports. I can’t get any of the usb ports to recognise usb devices. I have plugged a usb mouse into both the on board ports and pci card ports. The on board USB ports see an unknow USB device but wont load the mouse driver and the PCI c ard doesn’t recognise ANY devices. I am trying to install a USB Digital Camera for my client.
Device Mgr reports that usb controller for both and the Root hubs are installed and working. The PCI card is using IRQ 10 and is not sharing with any other device but the on board controller is sharing IRQ9 with the on board video.
Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
