User’s Calendar in Outlook freaks out

by twest . Updated 24 years, 3 months ago

I have a user whose exchange mailbox has the following problem: Whenever you try to access his calendar for any date past June 18th, Outlook completely locks up. This happens from the users machine when he is logged into Outlook, or from any otheruser machine that tries to access his Calendar on a date past June 18th. For example, his assistant has access to his calendar and several other users’ calendars. She can use her calendar fine, and all of the other users as well. However, when she accesses his calendar and tries to go to a date beyond June 18th, her Outlook client locks up as well. Outlook Web Access works fine for the account in question, only Outlook has the problem. I have assumed that this is an exchange issue with hismailbox since no-one else seems to be having this problem, and since OWA works fine for the user in question. I have checked the system and applications logs on both the exchange server and on the client machines, and they list nothing about this problem. We are using Outlook 2000 on a Windows 2000 client. The server runs exchange server 5.5 SP4 on a Windows NT Server with SP6a. I have checked the task manager on several machines when they have experienced this problem and have seen that the processor maxes out to 100% when Outlook locks up.

I have reduced the size of this user’s mailbox via archiving old items. I have tried copying his calendar to a .pst file and reading it from there. When I tried that the computer still locks up. I have rebooted the exchange server. I have tried deleting all of the appointments on June 18th. None of this has worked. I am considering saving everything to a pst file, then deleteing and re-adding his email account, but would like to avoidthis. Please help.
