Veritas Backup Exec error question

I am receiving the following error when trying to perform a backup in backup exec 8.6. Can anyone with any experience with this software possibly help me out? Thanks!

Storage device “SONY 1” reported an error on a request to write data to media.

Error reported:
The parameter is incorrect.
