viruses program on PC

Hi, tech

Is there a virus program out there that can run directly from a floppy or CD
in which
it does not need to be installed on a PC to run and scan for viruses as well
as it can be updated.

I have more then one PC(at home, work and vacation home)and
they have no internet or virus programs on them.

But I do have NORTON ANTIVIRUS on one PC and also the internet.

Can the above be done?

I want to use a different virus program then just the one I have.
