W2K Print Queue Stuck

I have a W2K machine that will not print Adobe files. When I start the print job, you can hear the printer initialize like it is going to start, but it then quiets down, and no printout occurs. The print job stays in the queue until I cancel it and restart the PC. I can print Word and the test print to the printer with no problem. What can I look for to try to troubleshoot this? The printer is part of my home network setup, and my other PC can print adobe files to it.
