Webmail in exchange 2003 disapears

When i started the webaccess to our exchange 2003 server, i can see the new mail in my inbox. After i open the mail or even did have the cursor on it the mail will disapear after i looked in my contacts (for example). When im in the office the mail is in my inbox again .. Direct lan connection.. so ?????
