Why can’t i connect to the domain/server I made?

So I have been wanting to get experience with active directory. I have made a 2016 server VM and a VM with windows 10 pro on it. I have set up the server in the 2016 server VM. I have been trying to connect the regualr VM to the server with no luck? it just says the domain name is incorrect? Could anybody help with a solution to this?

I have tried to go into CMD and do IPCONFIG and then copied that ip (which is different from my PC) into the network connector thing to make a static IP for the server computer. I have also went into this same section in the normal computer and put into the DNS the ip for the server.

Any help would be appreciated thank you!
