Why won’t my settings save?

I recently installed Office 2000 on my computer at work, which is running Windows 98. For some reason, none of my settings get saved on Excel 2000. For example, on AutoSave, I set it to save every 2 minutes, save all open workbooks, and do not prompt before saving. I’ve tried hitting save on the document after I click OK, but even that doesn’t save it. Whenever I close Excel and reopen it, it’s back to the default of 10 minutes, save current worksheet, and prompt before saving. I want my default font to be Tacoma; whenever I close and reopen Excel, it reverts back to Arial. I have Office 2000 on my computer at home, which has Windows ME, and my brothers’ computer has Office 2000 and Windows 98, and they both save the settings withoutany problems.
