windows 2000 as a second os

i have xp home on a mchine and i want to put win2000 pro as a second os on a slave hardrive do i need a boot manager or will 2000 aotumatically take care of the multi boot end of things?Also will there be a signifigant benifit in regards to programsand software to using this particular multiboot scenario?
