windows 2000 problems

I encountered problems when I downloaded an update of my adobe reader program. The computer rebooted under new user settings and I no longer have access to programs like outlook, etc. How do I restore the system to its previous settings prior to the adobe download? 2000 isn’t like XP, there isn’t a system restore program in the accessories file.
