Windows Media Player playback……

by peter434 . Updated 21 years ago

Maybe someone here can help me. Someone sent me their demo in the WMV file format. The video is encoded as “Windows Media MPEG-4 Video V3” and the audio is encoded as “Windows Media Audio 9
32 kbps, 22 kHz, stereo (A/V) 1-pass CBR”. The problem is that everytime I fast forward or rewind the video, it seems as if there is a lag. The video jumps ahead and it’s waiting for the audio to catch up or the video jumps too far out of synch with the audio. I am running WIn XP Pro SP2 with 1GB RAM, Sound Blaster Audigy, and NVIDIA Geforce4 MX 420 video card. I am also using Windows Media Player 10. Are there any codecs I am missing or is my video or sound cards outdated? Or is it that Windows Media Player 10 is full of bugs and I need to go back to 9? Any help would be appreciated.
