Windows NT Setup.log

by bluekey . Updated 24 years, 4 months ago

I have an Nt4 system, service pack 4 SBS. It has lost power several time in the past two months, despite the use of a Ups. At any rate I got called out to have a look at it cause it was locked up, no domain server available to the WS. Auto check ranat start up, and deleted a whole mess of indexes, now I was going to load service pack 6 which is where I ran into trouble. The setup of the SP gave the error that setup.log was missing or corrupt, which when I looked at it’s contents are blank. In add/remove progs. windows setup, all infs. are missing, there isn’t anything to add or remove. I know that a repair wouldn’t work,I have no BDC. I also don’t have a plan. At present the server is stable. So, I guess I’ll see if you guys want a few points, and point me in the right direction.
