windows xp activate

Well one of the computers in the office was showing the blue screen & nothing we could do about it so I found a an xp cd in the storage room & installed it.well I couldn’t find the production number.First it said I have 30 days to activate it.menwile one of the guys installed aa very impotant software(worth $1000.00) on it.Wihout telling me he called microsoft to activate the windows.well now we can’t even use the windows.I think somehow the microsoft locked it.We caan not afford to lose this software & I tried so haard to get another copy with the same order but I can’t.So I need to know how can fix this without loosing that softwaare.Bsicly can I have it activate without having the codes or upgrade it with aanother windows!?
