Windows XP Outlook Email Problems

One user on our email server is having issues recieving their email on their win xp desktop. Their laptop reieves email fine and so does any other computer. He can also send email, in fact sending email sometimes causes outlook to recieve emails.unsure of what to do we upgraded to office xp. we use an as/400 email server.
