WinDVD overlay error

With the toshiba tecra 9100 notebook and windows xp Professionl.
Problem is when I install WinDVD manually we get the error “Create Overlay failed. Please lower your screen resolution or the color depth and try again.”, it doesn’t matter what resolution we use it doesn’t work.
Any help on this issue would be great.
