Wld scrolling in Excel

Does Microsoft have a workaround, patch, or other to elimate the “wild scrolling” in Excel. We are using Office 97 which gave us no problems until we switched to using the Windows 2000 Terminal Services Client that runs the programs on a Windows 2000 server. When you try to select multiple rows of data, it starts out OK but then all of a sudden just takes off and you can’t stop the scrolling. I have seen some shareware that claims to address this problem, but I was hoping to find something documented by Microsoft. Any ideas?
