Word 2000-Menu Bar

When I open any file in Word I suddenly show no Menu Bar at the top of the screen. I cannot access the menus via keyboard commands such as Alt+F. I do not have access to any toolbars at all. I cannot access the options or customize features located within the Tools menu. I have uninstalled and then reinstalled my entire office program but it did not help. Does anyone have any suggestions?
