word delete/backspace

i have a problem with one word document that ive never seen before. If you put your curser somewhere and hit the delete button say 4 times… and then you want to backspace you have to push the backspace button 5 times before it goes once… Odd.

If you select somewhere and backspace you can’t use the delete key in that location at all.. I can click somewhere else and delete there and come back to that location and it still will not work. I’ll post if I find anything else but anyone have any ideas?

this happens on sp1 and sp3 on windows xp and windows 2k.
