Word Problem

I have been having this problem for a while now i work at a law firm and we have many documents that always stay the same and there might only be one line that you have to change in the document the problem is that latley when someone goes to change the document the letters will smash the letters together at the beggining of the line. I am using times new roman tt. Sometimes it will look fine on the document screen and when you print it everything in the body of the page will print all smashed together on one line. at first i thought it was the printer and maybe i needed to update the driver but it is happening on multiple types of printers.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
