Word XP keeps “seeking” floppy

Whenever I open or close Word on my work pc, the program “seeks” the (usually empty) floppy drive. That is, the program is apparently trying to read from or write to a floppy. The “File Locations” under “options” look okay; does anyone have any other ideas to turn off this annoying problem? Thanks.
