Word2003 shrinks window on opening ver

I have a few documents created in Word 2003 that have multiple versions saved in them. When I open a version, Word automatically shrinks the window to half the screen size as if trying to tile the documents (but failing).

How do I get Word to stop doing this? It’s very annoying cuz I have to re-maximize my Word to keep working.
