Wordperfect: Cannot save to floppy drive

I am using wordperfect 7 and I when I try to save a document to the floppy drive it wont work. I go to “file – save as” and go to the drop down list and select the floppy drive. After I select it it goes back to the default drive. I checked the floppy and it is working fine. How do you save to the floppy drive?
