XP Home Edition Keeps rebooting

Ihave XP Home Edition on Netvista desktop. I get to the wondows splash page and then it reboots and keeps doing it over and over. Never gets past the spash page or to the desktop. Even tried to use safe mode but can’t get past the splash page. I had been getting BSoD flashing right after getting to the desktop and error message was related to modem (which I knew was having problems)… Since then removed the modem, tried using recovery console to desable the modem service but still loops through rebooting. Any thoughts or help is greatly appreciated
