100% CPU Usage

i have win2k Pro on my system, its running terribly slow.In TASK MANAGER i noticed CPU TIME was 100% then in PROCESS TAB i noticed IExplorer is taking 100% cpu time.

what is causing this behaviour on my system & how do i resolve this ?
