167 No Processor bios update found

Hello,

I am trying to install a PIII 500 MHZ CPU on an IBM 300 GL, Type 6561, Model 53U. I perfomed a BIOS update from the IBM website and can’t even finish booting up. It gives me an error: “167 No Processor bios update found” and then directs me to the BIOS Configuration/Setup Utility.

Any help guys?

Ps: I had a PII 266 CPU previously
