1999 IBM Aptiva PC-Why Noise from Tower?

11/11/02-Regarding 1999IBM Aptiva PC. When powered: There’s a noise from tower–(intermittent grinding noise) accompanied with oil-like smell. Software:Windows 98. I appreciate any your advice concerning this matter. Thank you. (Point value: Moderate Question: 150 Points).
