2000 policy on nt 4.0 server

have multi client PC’s 95,98,NT 40, and now 2000. Use separate policies for each. Can I install 2000 policies on an nt 4.0 server, or do I have to upgrades servers to 2000. I know it can be done on 2000 server, but how about if I don’t upgrade servers and go with 2000 client machines. Anyone experienced this, and how difficult to maintain? NEED ASAP ANSWER! Thank you!
