I have a Dell OptiPlex 110 that has 2000 Server installed that I use for a test server. It only has 128 MEG I have order another 256 MEG of RAM I know 128 is not enough.
The question: Why is my Server 2000 OS very slow to open files from withinExcel 97 from our Novell File Server? What Can I do to fix the problem.
Also, why is the first print job from within Excel to our HP5 SI network printer is very slow? Whereas, the next job to the printer takes about the same amount of time asit does my Windows 95 PC. I suspect if I print within 10 minutes of the first job it will print quickly. Thus, I suspect I have set something wrong somewhere, but I don’t know where?
Our local IT support staff has not been able to solve the problem, and in fact that have also encountered the same problem.
I am using the Novel Client NT/2000 from July 31, 2000 on the 2000 Server PC. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
