I set up IIS on a w2k domain controller. I’ve allowed anonymous access. My web folder, which contains all my images and html pages is stored on another machine, running winxp.
My problem is that I’m not able to access the website. I get 403.1 – Forbidden. I can’t get to it from the server or from the xp machine. On both machines I’m using IE6.
I’ve tried several things:
– Rechecked my permissions for anonymous access
– Under the Home Directory tab, I changed from ‘scripts only’ to ‘scripts and executables’
– I also tried deleting the website and creating it from scratch in Internet Service Manager, using the permissions wizard.
I have no fancy security, just the default security settings.
I can try uninstalling/reinstalling IIS, but I don’t think I should go that far for what seems like a simple problem.
If there’s anything I forgot to mention here, please let me know. Thanks.
