486 w/ win3.11 to Windows 98

I need to grab files from a legacy PC (a 486 machine with Windows 3.11) and put them on a new machine using Windows 98. I cannot find any external devices that will work with legary software, such as Windows 3.11.

Any ideas as to the best methodto handle this?
