a convenient backup tool

Greetings,

I have an external USB 160GB hard drive which I want to use it to backup the data on my laptop which is about 100 GB. Looking for a tool that is:
Portable- so I can store it on the drive and gives me access to my data on any computer.

Password protect- gives me the ability to password protect my data without taking a long time to encrypt and decrypt!

Ability to backup open files will be a plus.

Synchronization will be a plus, I used Dmailersync but it doesn’t synchronize folder moves, renames or creations, it just synchronize files.
