A DC joining another Domain as a DC

I recently had to join a PDC to my new Windows 2000 Domain. So I took it offline and upgraded it to a DC in a phony domain. I then demoted it to a member server and then promoted it to a DC in my production envirement. Now I am receiving many errorsrelating to the KCC and not being able to find sysvol. What am I missing? It seems to me that it still has informtion from the old phony domain in it.
