A media player problem

Windows media player on a clients PC is playing everything about twice normal speed. I’ve updated to 7.1 and installed the codec package that Micrsoft supply without any change. The samples im using work fine on any other PC I try but still play twice as fast on his. Any ideas would be appreciated.
