A Pain In My Startup

by kmc . Updated 24 years, 1 month ago

This is something I have been fighting with since I updated my RealPlayer. The new update has placed an auto update reference in my start sequence but, there is no reference to it in the list when you do CTRL+ALT+DEL, not a big deal.

The part that is the pain is in the actual startup list. I have gone into msconfig multiple times and disabled the RealPlayer update to no avail. It will be disabled for one or two startups but low and behold it’s back again without provocation. I want to perminantly disable this thing but not matter what i do it always comes back to haunt me, and it’s surprising how much RAM this thing eats up, and it also slows down my boot up.

The reference in startup is:
TkBellExe Real/Update_OB/evntsvc.exe-osboot
Any ideas?
