Able to print -Access Denied on Netowrk

I am on Windows 2000 Pro Workstation. I have connected to network printers but they tell me their status is “access denied unable to connect”, yet I can print to them. I can not see the printer queue because of the access denied unable to connect status.
We are a mixed domain on NT and 2000. I don’t believe we have Active Directory set up.
