About Data Recovery

Hi,

I have a question regarding FAT and MBR.What is the difference between the FAT and MBR.And if you format the harddisk then after that you can recover the data from formatted harddisk where that data stored and in which sector or track.If you run any data recovery software what it do how it search the data and recover it.

I would appreciate if someone assist me on this issue.
